Nicotine pouch strength guide: how many mg is right for you?

Nicotine pouches range from light 2 mg options all the way to 20 mg+ ultra-strong formats. Picking the right strength makes the difference between a comfortable experience and an unpleasant one — especially if you are new to pouches.
How strength is measured
Strength is stated in milligrams of nicotine per pouch. Some brands also print a dot scale (●●○○) on the can. As a rough guide:
- 2–4 mg — light. Good for beginners or occasional use.
- 5–8 mg — regular. The most popular range; comparable to a typical cigarette or standard snus.
- 9–12 mg — strong. For experienced users who want a firmer kick.
- 13 mg+ — extra strong to ultra. Only for heavy users with real tolerance; brands like Siberia, Killa and Kuma live here.
Slim, mini and regular formats
Format changes how the same mg feels. A mini pouch is drier and releases nicotine a little slower; a large moist pouch hits faster. If you are switching from vaping, a 5–8 mg slim is usually the sweet spot.
If you are not sure, go lower
Too strong a pouch causes hiccups, a burning gum feel, and nausea. You can always step up — start light, see how a full can treats you, then adjust. Most of our range is available in several strengths of the same flavour, so you rarely have to give up a taste you like.
